CAPTURING DETAILS // WEDDING DETAIL SHOTS
Capturing details is what started my photography journey. I was just 12 when I was given my very first Olympus film camera by my parents. I was tasked to take photos of our upcoming holiday in Europe and to my surprise, my parents LOVED the photos! They said I had a great eye for details. The specific photo that caught their eyes was a picture of a tree covered in snow. If only I still have that photo to share with you. After many years of doing photography as a hobby, I finally decided to pursue my passion for photography and chose wedding photography!
During my first year of wedding photography, I worked as a second shooter with a lovely wedding photographer and I learnt the importance of capturing detail shots. Capturing detail shots on your special day is very important as it contributes to your overall wedding story. After all that hard work and planning that goes into your wedding day, I’m sure you would like them to be documented.
Before I begin to photograph details of the wedding, I will always ask the lovely couple if they have any specific details that must be photographed on the day. Sometimes the couples have a special jewellery or accessories that was passed on from the grandparents, sometimes there’s a special engraving that needs to be captured, or anything else that the couple deems as important to them.
Here are some of my favourite wedding details shots by categories from weddings that I have photographed.
